Here are some live takes from our show at The Crystal Theater on 09/21/2004. We set a couple AKG C1000 mics on stands out in the room to see what kind of a live recording we would get -- it actually didn't come out too bad at all. It was recorded straight from the two room mics directly to Jimmy's laptop; we'd never recorded this way before. As far as the room was concerned, pretty much the only thing coming from the PA were drums and vocals -- bass and guitar were pure stage volume. For mixdown, Jimmy normalized both peak and RMS . . . ran it through an 8band parametric eq with slight cut in the low mid . . . slight boost in the real low stuff, and semi large boost in the high end. The only downside was the sparse Tuesday night crowd, but what the hell; get a load of the thunderous ovation we receive from our crowd that includes: Jimmy and Chris's parents, 3 of Jimmy's friends and their wives/girlfriends, the sound guy, one of Bubba's friends, and the (kickass!) Portland, Maine band Conifer:
