Rock is not about fashion trends. Rock is not about how many times a band can make the cash register ring. Rock is not limited to jangling guitars and catchy 2-chord tunes. Rock is not meant to be part of any established blueprint, period, regardless of what sardonic, wannabe mainstream music journalists may think. There was a time when rock and roll was anti-establishment, but somehow, when everyone seemed to stop paying attention, it suddenly became the mainstream.
Based in the unlikely town of Missoula, MT, LAZERWOLFS bring their brand of heavy, high octane rock to the thriving, worldwide arena of independent music, where the mainstream is so unattainable that few even care to acknowledge its existence. Powered by a rhythm section that has been delivering the goods together since the mid-80s, the band has been cranking up the amps and bringing the heat under the LAZERWOLFS moniker since the summer of 2000. After a pair of demos, the band self-released their debut album, GET MAD, in 2002. After a tour of the West Coast, shows with the likes of Spirit Caravan, Cave In, Rival Schools, Fu Manchu, and Nebula, LAZERWOLFS released their second full-length, titled NAVAJA AUTOMATICA, in 2006. Now the band is working on new material for the third record, LA BRUJA, to be released in May/June of 2008. |
