You always know when an album is going to truly rock your world within the first few bars. This album truly rocked from the very beginning, those first few ac/dc like guitar licks. This is true kick ass rock and roll. Just like the good doctor ordered.
Lazerwolfs deliver up the goods like a testosterone laden 15 year old at his first outdoor party. From "Bonfire", a song that tries to seem angry but can;t, (it's just too rocking guys sorry), to the really killer guitar work throughout "Ride" to the quirky guitar on "ORT" - this is a metal head's dream if he/she were to dream of a time when rock and roll meant fun, great guitar work and solos galore. Add to this Maiden like 80's style vocals (minus the screams) and that's a lot of good time rock.
The production on this album is really impressive, and the band did it. Good job! I really do love this album. There is a lot of space where it is just the ultimate rock music. Space that is filled with this amazing guitar sliding, experiments with pedals and whistles. It is sounds like these that leave those psychedelic track lights on in the brain. On top of this are the steady drums I associate with jam bands, and yes for certain Lazerwolfs have to be a jam band to sound this raw. Each song is long and proud. Standouts for me were the really cool jam song Ort, and the groove laden Elemental. Damn why did I not listen to this much sooner!!
Get off your butt and get a copy of this baby. How the hell can you call yourself a rock and roller when you have this incredibly fine jam quality, super quality rock band waiting to grab you by the soul and set your feet to moving, your heart to pounding, and your ass to swaying? Catch the licks. If you like Foghat, Zeppelin, Kyuss, Cheap Trick, AC/DC, early ZZ Top, and any of the great 70's guitar heavy jam bands, this is the album. I guarantee you, you will feel like a kid getting stoned and partying for his first time.
